Dr Lloyd M BuckLloyd was born and raised in Perth, and developed a curiosity in dentistry and orthodontics at a young age during his own treatment. He completed his high schooling at Christ Church Grammar School prior to studying Science and Engineering at the University of WA. He then completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Adelaide graduating on the Dean's list, and also his Bachelor of Science in Dentistry with First Class honours. During his dental studies he received the J. L. Eustace Scholarship, A. R. Riddle Scholarship and the Dental Board of South Australia Research Scholarship. He was involved in representing the student body and was elected president of the Adelaide dental student society (AUDSS).
Following his dental training, Lloyd worked for a number of years in private practice in Adelaide, Bunbury and in Sydney. He completed his Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics at the University of Sydney, and was awarded the John Reading prize for the best tabled orthodontic case. He is a member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists (ASO) and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (MRACDS), is a certified member of the Australian Orthodontic Board (AOB), and is a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA). Lloyd enjoys remaining up to date with the latest techniques and technologies in orthodontics, attending courses and major conferences regularly. He has been married to Jippy (who is also an orthodontist!) since 2009 and has a young son, with another on the way. He loves working with his hands and in his spare time likes design, woodwork and the outdoors. |
