Retention
When we remove your braces, we will begin the retention stage of your treatment. You will have to wear your retainers full time for the period given to you by your orthodontist. Following this you will go to nights-only wear for a period of up to 24-36 months. After this period, they can be gradually reduced to 4-5 nights per week indefinitely. Teeth move naturally so as long as teeth are to remain in alignment, retainers must be worn, however over time we can reduce the time retainers must be worn. Your final orthodontic result depends on your retainers, so follow through with the hard work you've put in so far. Remember to remove your retainers before brushing, and brush your retainer before placing it back in your mouth.
