Fees

Every quote is personal

At Midland Orthodontics we believe everyone deserves a confident, healthy smile, which is why we work hard to keep specialist orthodontic treatment accessible and affordable for families across Perth.

The cost of treatment differs for each patient because every treatment plan is different. What you pay reflects the complexity of your case, the appliance that suits it best and how long it will take, not a rate card. That is why we give you a personal quote at your consultation, in writing, rather than a figure over the phone.

Orthodontic treatment is an investment. The fee covers the specialist planning, every adjustment visit across the course of treatment, and the care that follows, and the result is a smile that lasts.

  • A written quote at your first consultation, before you commit to anything
  • No obligation and no pressure to decide on the day
  • Ask what your quote includes: visits, appliances and retainers are set out clearly
Payment plans

Weekly, fortnightly and monthly payments

To make treatment easier to budget for, we offer interest-free payment plans that spread the cost across your treatment. Most families pay a deposit when the appliance is fitted, then regular instalments by direct debit.

  • Weekly

Smaller amounts that line up with a weekly pay cycle.

  • Fortnightly

The most common choice, matched to a fortnightly wage.

  • Monthly

One payment a month for the length of your treatment.

Our plans are managed through DentiCare, an Australian payment-plan provider that works with dental and orthodontic practices. Plans are interest-free, there is no credit check, and you can pay a plan out early at any time without penalty. When you come in for your consultation we will talk through the options and set up a plan that suits your circumstances.

Families

Families in treatment together

Many of our patients are siblings, or a parent and a child, in treatment at the same time. We have looked after Midland families for more than forty years, and we structure payment plans so that more than one course of treatment at once stays manageable.

If more than one member of your family is likely to need treatment, mention it at your consultation. We will set out what it means for your family before you decide.

Health funds

Claiming on the spot

Most private health extras policies include orthodontics, usually with a waiting period and an annual and lifetime limit. We can give you the item numbers so you can check your cover before you commit.

Our reception team will help you claim your health fund rebate on the spot through Hicaps, so the rebate comes off what you pay rather than arriving weeks later.

What drives the fee

What it costs, treatment by treatment

We will not put a figure on a treatment we have not seen. What we can tell you is what each course of treatment involves and what moves the price, so the quote you receive makes sense when you read it.

  • Your first consultation

A specialist assessment, digital imaging where it is needed, your options explained and a written quote before you leave. Ask reception about the consultation fee when you book.

  • Braces

The fee reflects the type of braces, the complexity of the bite and how long the teeth take to move, typically eighteen to twenty-four months. Ceramic braces cost more than metal because the brackets do.

  • Invisalign and clear aligners

Quoted on the number of aligners and refinements your case needs. Simpler cases with fewer aligners cost less than a full course, and refinements are set out in the quote.

  • Plates and early treatment

Expanders, plates and other early appliances are usually a shorter course than braces and are quoted as their own phase. If a second phase is likely later, we will say so at the assessment.

  • Retainers and retention

Retainers at the end of treatment are included in the quote for a full course. Replacement retainers and repairs are charged separately, and the fee is set out before any work is done.

  • Want to talk it through first?

Reception can explain the consultation fee, the payment plans and what to ask your health fund. It is a five minute call and it is what they are there for.

It depends on the type of braces, how complex the bite is and how long treatment takes, which is why we quote each case individually after a consultation. You leave your first visit with the full fee in writing.

Invisalign and clear aligner fees are based on how many aligners and refinements your case needs. A simpler case costs less than a full course. We quote it in writing at your consultation, with payment plan options alongside.

We look after a lot of families with more than one member in treatment at the same time, and we take that into account when we set up your payment plan. Mention it at your consultation and we will explain what it means for your family.

Most extras policies include orthodontics, usually with a waiting period and an annual and lifetime limit. Medicare and the Child Dental Benefits Schedule do not cover it. We can give you the item numbers to check, and we claim on the spot through Hicaps.
