Dr Gordon Cheung grew up on the North Shore in New Zealand, where he completed his primary and secondary schooling. He moved to Perth to pursue dentistry, earning his Bachelor of Dental Science and Bachelor of Science in Dentistry (Honours) at the University of Western Australia.
After several years working as a general dentist in Perth, Gordon specialised in orthodontics through the University of Sydney program, where he received the best tabled board case award in his final year.
His research has been published in the Australian Orthodontic Journal and the European Journal of Orthodontics, and he keeps his knowledge current through conferences and courses, with a particular focus on using Invisalign to treat both his adult and adolescent patients. He is the elected state treasurer of the Australian Society of Orthodontists.

Gordon is married to Tiffany, and they have two daughters, Chloe and Emilie, plus a Corgi named Mochi. He enjoys cycling and baking.
